Default RE: Stock seat mod

man - I like what I see going on here.

After riding to and from Daytona ( was on the bike about 6 hours) I noticed some tailbone soreness.
I have a mustang seat (one of the wide ones) and I'm thinking it's from straightening up all the way and bowing my lower back to fit the backrest which is too far forward causing the tailbone to rest on/near the backrest mounting bracket. I'm going to noodle around with the backrest at the house and hopefully I can adjust it a bit, but if not I'll need the seat modded.

If I can't get it the way I want, would you be interested in re-padding or re-shaping a mustang seat? I know you originally made this thread for stockers. I'll include pics of what it looks like.

I'm 6'4" and 260ish lbs (been dieting.. hehe) and not sure if I could take too much of a height drop or being pushed forward. The bike is super comfy for 2 hour rides, 6 was a bit high.

From the pictures you Mustang looks like the mod will work on it. Some Mustangs it wont because of the covers design.

Is there anything you can do with a Mustang Vintage Solo seat to move the rider a little farther forward? I like the width of the seat and the padding is pretty comfortable on a long trip, it would just be nice to be move a little farther forward as Mustang does not offer this as an option.

unfortunately no. The Mustang seat covers are pop riveted to the metal seat pans and if I added foam in the back it would require a new cover. Now if you wanted me to make a new cover then yes. I try to keep all of my mods as simple as possible to save you guys money, Now what you could do is go back to the stock seat which I can reshape like the Mustang and add foam to move you forward and the stock cover would fit back on. The Mustangs shape is what my mods are based off of.

Starting on Nov 17th I will be offering memory foam installation along with the seat mods. I will remove and re-shape allot of the stock foam for a better rider friendly shape and install memory foam which is medical grade 5.5 lb memory foam that is two inches thick. This works really good and the memory foam can also be installed on the passenger pillions which helps allot. Driver's seat cost is $85 plus shipping and passenger pillion is $60 plus shipping. I dont think you will find anybody who can or will beat my prices on these new mods.

BadX,
I have a 05 Deluxe. I am 5'10" and need to be back in the saddle a liitle further. Height is no problem as I do not need to be lower, just further back. I can feel the pressure on my tail bone at times. Have you did any work like this on the Deluxe? Thanks.

All the time dude, that is the number one complaint and again this all goes back to the shape of the seat.
