Between my Softail, Shovel & Road King I thought I had all the bases covered.
A few years ago I bought a slightly used, '07 VRSCAW.

Now I KNOW I do. Excellent machine.

The Night Rod Special riding position is more comfortable (upright), IMHO, than the riding position on the V-Rod Muscle (lean forward). I'm 6' tall.

I've had two of them over the years. An '04 and my current '07, bullet proof motor and a blast to ride, turning the throttle will put a smile on your face every time. Be sure to watch the video on the making of it. Pretty interesting story.

LOL, just noticed the date of the last post before mine. Last summer, I wonder if he ever bought one or not.

Default V rods

I had a 06 Nightrod. Blast to ride. Not only not good mileage, 3.3 gallon tank. Newer models have 5 gallons. Still needs a 6 speed.

I was always pissed [sarcasm intended] when my son asked me to bring his V-rod down to his house from mine.

That notion has been debunked time and again and even if HD did, given the ratio, it would only give a 7% difference. Hardly worth the effort.

Debunked how? I would accept a 7% difference in lower rpm and gas milage. At 75mph the bike felt "Wound out" of course at 70mph you have another 70mph to go to 140 but the feeling you need "another gear" is a feeling. On a cruiser feeling counts. 6th gear on the Dyna works for me, others disagree with that too.
