My wife owns a 2002 V-Rod. We had some major work done at the dealership after it was damaged during our last military move. She doesn't ride it a lot but we have taken a few big trips. On the last trip, the fuel indicator began to fluctuate. It ties to the speedo mileage remaining indicator and fuel low level light. While she rides the fuel indicator drops despite having a full tank. Any ideas on what might cause this? I shook the bike back and forth and it really sent the system off the deep end, with the indicator dropping to low level light (plenty of fuel in tank). I checked the connectors on top of the tank and they seem fine. Is there something the mechanics may have left loose (wouldn't be the first thing I've found) or is the fuel level probe in the tank gone bad?
