In 2007 I had a W. Since then I've had a C14 Kawasaki and a Dyna.
I just picked up a Muscle (F).
Here it is at the dealer.

Unfortunately, I guess I don't have permission to view attached photos until I've been a member for 30 days. Hopefully then I'll be able to see it. On a side question about the Muscle; Do you think it would be nicer if they made the exhaust straight pipes instead of the crossover they do?

I'm not sure what your question is? There is a pipe on both sides of the muscle. I've had a W (V Rod 2007) that had both pipes on the same side. It
made the bike "unbalanced." You could feel the weight down the road. So no I like the dual pipes on both sides, it's balanced.
If by "straight" pipes you mean open exhaust, I for one do not like LOUD pipes, as I ride more than a few miles a day, and noise is irritating.

Look up a Triumph scrambler, that has "cross over" pipes.

I don't know about the newer Muscles, but when they first came out they did a crossover under the engine then had a pipe come to the back on each side. It gave the illusion that it was straight piped, but if someone looked hard they'd see the exhaust crossover which is why they are quiet and not loud.

I had the Screamin Eagle slip on mufflers that are so rare to find when I first had my bike. The first day I went for a ride I had people pull out in front of me when I went for a ride around the city so after that I purchased TAB non-baffled and then VMod exhaust...I only had 1 person pull out in front of me after that in the 3.5 years I owned it and that's because she was an idiot who didn't even look to see if traffic was coming. So for safety reasons, I'm a fan of loud pipes since I truly believe "Loud pipes save lives". However, I know what you mean when they're really loud and at highways speeds...

There is a crossover in front of the engine that ties the two exhaust pipes. That is done for torque at certain speeds (RPM) reversion from one pipe will help scavenge and cyclinder filling of the other cyclinder. Completely seperate systems on each side changes the troque curve.
