Hey guys, I just put a deposit down on a 2012 Night Rod Special. I have several other Harley's but this will be my first experience with a VROD. Anything special I need to know as far as maintenance requirements, do's or don'ts ect ?
I have installed Ohlins shocks on all my other bikes is a shock upgrade needed on the V-Rod? I pick the bike up next Monday from a private seller. Bought it from eBay, it only has 1162 miles on it. The seller is local to me only about 50 miles away. I would appreciate any advice from the VROD crowd.

Thumbs up

I have a 12 MUSCLE, it's FUN, but I can't even get to the battery with a degree from MIT, LOL!
I had a tune done, with K&N, running topless, with V&H comp headers.
it's a fun bar hopper.
ENJOY

Well, you will love it. I have an '08, tab exhaust no baffles, K&N, and a tuner. Lots of torque, quick for an HD, and they look great.

As long as you get a motorcycle jack, you can work on it.

I just had a brake light sensor switch go bad and the brake fluid leaked out... going to work on it this weekend. I've learned that is a fairly common problem.

I picked it up on Monday and have ridden about 300 miles I love it ! Plenty of power, very smooth and more comfortable than I thought it would be. It has the TAB exhaust, TTS tuner and a K&N filter. The slow speed turning took a little getting use to but it actually handles better than I had heard. I love the smoothness of the engine. Wish I could get this motor in my Road King! I will post a pic soon.
