Almost there with acquiring all the parts. Everything I've bought from fellow HD forum members arrived as described. The ebay saddlebags are a different story. Almost a month from date of purchase and so far I'm out the money and no bags. Hopefully that will be resolved soon.

Found an amazing local artist/painter to do the work. My goal is June to have it complete.

I will start a post with pics and updates as we get rolling.

Thank you for the info, I will definitely spend some time over there. We are on vacation now and the Mrs. Is driving.

Mechanically the bike is sound. It has just under 16k miles on it. I drained and changed all the fluids when I first started on it. Changed them twice since then. Cosmetically it needs the most help. Should turn out good.

Dad do you need a set of stock style bags or ste he'd style and you need lids w hinge hardware or no?
