180 Tire on 2007 Street Glide
#11
Almost done
Wheel is back on and the bike is almost ready for a test ride maybe Sunday if the weather is decent. I did shave about 1.5mm off the face of the drive pulley to make sure I had enough clearance from the swing arm with a 3/8" spacer between the pulley and wheel for belt clearance.
I had a couple of projects while doing this fender mod I found I needed the new brake setup and while tearing down the bike my left side down pipe needed to replace since the slip on had wore a grove in it.
I do want to thank Timberland for the inspiration to complete this project. I had been looking at his post from several years ago and spent over a year getting parts in perpetration to jump in and do it.
Also what have others used to cover the bolt on the fender that is for support bracket? I don't want to put the old plain black one back on.

Project Complete
Officially done with this project. Rode for a little bit Sunday morning to make sure everything was good no rubbing or odd sounds. The wife and I then rode for a few hours two up on the first good warm day here in NC.
The Wife's comment was you spent a lot of time and money and you really can't tell you did anything....I told her that is what I was going after and I can tell in the ride.
Thank you to the few that showed interest in this mod I know I wasn't the first and hopefully not the last.

Sorry I just saw this. Stock swing arm but since I went with a 16" wheel I did have to cut a little off the brake bracket so it wouldn't rub on the tire. If I had stayed with and 18" wheel I wouldn't have had to do anything. If you still have your 2000 swing arm in yours you might need to change it to a 2007 swing arm.

I will try to help anyway I can. I don't post much in here but I do come back from time to time just to check things out. Here is thread I used to get me going and start my planning. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...0-install.html He has a couple of threads that I read through to get me started.
This forum is awesome to get ideals from. Much better than any FB page.
