So my 08 Sportster 1200 XLC has what I believe to be a chrome plated front spoked rim. However I know that some have polished aluminum. How do I tell the difference since I don't want to mess the finish up by putting the wrong cleaner on?

 

Polished aluminum will come off black on the rag when you clean it with wax or polish. Chrome will not, same with clear coated aluminum.
