Default Age of Tires?

Bought a 2007 with 2300 miles on it. It has been babied and in a garage.
My question is: Do I need to buy new tires just because the tires are 8 years old?
The tires look fine and I have ridden the bike 100 miles since buying?

Without question, replace. I bought a '06 at the beginning of the summer, just under 2000 original miles. Original tires looked like brand new, but were slick as all heck. I did put another 1000 miles on the old tires, but it was constantly on my mind. That rubber hardens over time. It may feel secure on nice dry pavement, but hit some water or gravel, and you will notice a difference. Also replace any tubes and rim strips. Your wheels have not been off in nearly 10 years, so it's pretty important to get some new Anti-Seize on the axles, and check your rear wheel bearing. Over time that metal starts to bond. I would also suggest replacing the brake pads and fluid at the same time (Cheap Enough).

I just ordered new Michelins. They are inbound. Thanks. My tires are 9 years old.
