Default Mixing radials and bias

I used to think you should never mix radial and bias ply tires. Now I am reading that it is ok as long as the radial is in the back and bias up front. Looking to replace my OEM tires and I wanted to go with radials. Most mfg's have either one or the other in a radial, but not both. Have also gotten advice from some good folks on this forum going from the 130 up front to a 150 and from a 180 on the rear up to a 200 out back. 2011 FXDF. All stock. Just never liked the OEM Dunlops. Now they need replacing and I am looking at Michelin Commander II, Avon Cobras, and Pirelli Night Dragons. Any thoughts?

The MoCo themselves produce/sell particular models with that exact configuration...bias front, radial rear

No worries putting a radial on the back and bias on the front. We do it all the time and so does Harley.

Any thoughts? Avon Cobras! If you go with a brand's recommended tyres you will avoid the wrong mix of tyre construction. Going to non-stock sizes does require us to be alert! I have bias Cobra on the front of my Glide, radial Storm on the rear.
