Actually, on a Softail, the front to rear can actually be pretty far off depending on model since Harley had trouble with belt rubbing tire as they installed bigger wider tires to keep up with the metrics. It's still going to ride on the highest part of the tire crown and the front is going to point it in the correct direction. It's not enough to notice but it is truly going down the road with a bit of stagger like two wheels on a trailer. I guess you could fix it with custom spacer but on mine, the belt drive will not let you. On the older springers, they were so far off, you can see it in the front. However, I guess that was to get it in alignment.
