H-D factory Bridgestone touring ?
It's getting close to time for new tires . Anyone got some good advice on touring tires? I have a 2012 Streetglide w/factory wheels. The factory Bridgestones seem to have done fairly well but as always trying to find something better. Ride, mileage, traction etc.

I'm in a bit of the same boat. I have a '15 Streetglide Special with tuner, heavy breather, street cannons, and dyno'd. I've had it for just over a year and am already over 20,000km (12,500 miles). The front tire is in great shape, but the back tire is done (I may be a little aggressive on the throttle) due to all the added torque. I need to change it, and used to run the Metz 888's on my old softail. The service dude at the local Harley dealer told me that I need to stick to the stock tire if I don't change the front tire. He stressed that I can't throw a 888 onto the rear unless I change the front too.
Thoughts?
Is the 888 the best way to go, or is there a better tire?
Can I just change out the rear safely?

Your service dude is sort of right, yet also wrong! It is conventional wisdom to use matching front and rear tyres, however we get regular questions in HDF about mixing them. The only times I ever had problems was many years ago and not on a Harley. If you are using premium brand tyres, such as those you mention, you should be fine IMHO. Make sure you use the correct pressures (check the brand's website) and if you are not happy with the ride, then swap the older tyre to the same type as your new one.
Are there better tyres? IMHO yes, but you'll get different answers from each of us to that one! I prefer Avon and have been using them on my Harleys since the '70s.

I'm in the same boat I just order some dunlap ellites today for 355.00 shipped for my 2015 ultra limited seems like a lot of riders like them and good reviews so I hope there right and the price is a lot cheaper than Harley tires I will give update as soon as I get them on
If you don't mind Metzelers they have a $88 Prepaid VISA rebate going on right now.
You can get a 17" front and 16" rear shipped to your door for $212 after rebate
