Default Michelin tires

Time to have the rear tire replaced again on my '04 Road King and have been wondering about the recently HD approved Michelin tires. Apparently the '09's are equipped with 'em in 17" but not sure if there is a fitment for my scooter.

Have any of ya'll installed this tire on your cruiser and how happy are you with its performance?

Thanks in advance for any insight offered.

WVULTRA,
Your thread & impressions took me thru the discussion & thought process I needed.
I'll want to reconfirm the tire size I need for my '04 RK and order up.
I'm currently on a half worn front Dunlop and wondered about mixing it w/one of those Michelins for the rear, hate to give up the miles but if its a safety issue then I'll probably need to bite the bullet and buy the pair. The dyna beads suggestion is a plus.
Not only can I get valuable information needed to keep my ride on the road, but admiring everyone else's scooters is just plain great.

Is this a great website or what?!

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER mix tire brands or designs.... not a good thing to do, seeing as you only have 2 tires, they need to be able to work in concert w/each other.....

Oh, BTW.... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER mix tires...

SL:

First, I have to say that experienced information from Shovelhead Bob is what convinced me to try the Michelins; and his insight and knowledge of NOT MIXING TIRES is gospel! I fully understand how hard it is to not get the full use of your front tire; but if you value the fact how important our tires are to us, then buy a set and maybe donate your old front tire to someone that might be in dire need of a good used unit.

The rear Michelin for your '04 RK would be HD #43284-07 which is the MU85B16 blackwall. Front would be #43303-07 MT90B16 blackwall. Not saying you have to buy from Dealer; part numbers are for reference only. Plenty of aftermarket companies offering the Michelins at significant savings.

Also highly recommend the DynaBeads. They are so easy to install, and keep the Michelins perfectly balanced at any speed!

HTHs!
