Dot 3 and 4 Brake Fluid Questions
Guys,
Let me apologize upfront if this topic has been beat to death. Let me say I know very little about brake fluid and what I do know is what I learned online today.
My SG specs call for DOT 4 brake fluid. I have some brake fluid on the shelf that says its DOT3 and DOT4. So I started thinking, which is definitely a problem, about why DOT3 is not seperate from DOT4 if their boiling points are different? Why mix it like this?
Is there any downside with using DOT3/DOT4 brake fluid and is it as good as straight up DOT4?
I figure this is as good of a place to ask so I look forward to getting some education on the subject.

Why do you want to go through all that. Go buy a new can of what's recommened and pour it in. Problem solved
The dot3/dot4 mix you have will be more caracteristic of dot3 in performance but will work in any system that requires either dot3 or dot4. Go straight dot4 and your brake system will be as intended.
