21" Wheel spacer issues....NEED HELP!
I need any and all help. I have a 98 Roadking with Pickard wheels I just purchased. Problem is I cannot ride the bike now. All four of my spacers need to be cut to length to accomadate the new rims. I called Pickard and they said they were not sure of the lengths but that they do need cut down. WTH? I'm not that skilled of a mechanic. Anyone out there ever have this problem or know what to do?
Thanks,
Jason

Mount the wheel on the axle and set it so it's centered in the forks. Check to see if the rotor lines up with the caliper. If the rotor lines up mount the caliper to hold the wheel in place and then measure the distance on each side to get the proper sizes for your spacers.
If the rotor doesn't line up then you have to space the rotor over to keep the wheel centered. They make spacers for this purpose that you can purchase. Once the rotor is set you can follow the above directions to measure for you spacers.
You can do the same to get your back wheel lined up. Cut the spacers on a lathe not with any type of saw. They have to be exact and straight or you will have bearing problems. You can mock up with PVC tubing to check your measurements and give your machinist an example to follow. Good luck with your project.
