Default Metzler tire pressure?

I just had a set of Metzler 880 tires put on my 2005 Road King. I stayed with the stock sizes. I should have asked the dealer, but I did'nt. Whats the correct air pressure for them, front and rear? Daily rider,175 lbs., no passengers or extra load.

Google - metzeler motorcycle tire pressure - not the same as stock. See metzeler
website.

Max air pressure is listed on the tire. Run the max for longer tire life.

I have a Fatboy and have been running 38 psi in front and 40 psi in rear for years. Great wear and handling

Those numbers on the tyre are misleading. What they tell us is the maximum load on the tyre at the stated pressure. It is NOT the maximum pressure the tyre can be run at. If you have any doubts email Metzeler for maximum pressures. For Avon tyres it is 50psi. Avon have recommended tyre pressures for each model of Harley on their website, hopefully Metzeler do as well.

Metzlers are a soft compound tire don't run them low or they will wear fast.

On my Dyna it is listed 40/40 front and rear. I run them around 40-45 front and rear. My next set will not be Metz. I like them, but I have had better tires. I actually liked the ride of the Mich. Scorchers better on my Dyna. Just me I guess.
