Default Axle spacer clearence?

I am fitting a rear wheel on my 00 FLTR with a 1" axle, 170 tire, modified caliper, & 04 swingarm. The stock spacers wont work. I need to know the measurement between the swingarm and pulley side spacer to get the correct bearing preload when the axle nut is tightened. Should the spacers have any clearance or sit flush with no give? I'm asking about the width not the dia. of the spacer

There is to be no lateral preload on any ball bearing.
The spacers should fit snug before tightening the axle nut.
