Angry Road King Classic 2008 Tire Choices

Looks like wire wheels from 2004-2008 have few choices. My Dunlop 402's don't inspire but I would take a chance on AE if they came in my size. Since turning my RKC into an ultra (fairing, tour pack, heavy amps) I picked up a ton of weight, rider too... So tire load is a concern.

Has anyone found great tires for these uncommon wheel size (MU85/16 rear, MT90/16 front)

Rear tire is starting to look like a racing slick!

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF.

Those two tyre sizes are common as chips and available from most tyre brands. Tyres get discussed on here pretty well every day, although you would do better by looking in on the Touring section.

Avon, Continental, Metzeler, Michelin and Pirelli all make those sizes. The MTs have been in use since the 1980s if not earlier, your MU is a bit more recent. MT is equivalent to 130/90, your MU is 140/85, however you can also get a 150/80 that is the same load rating as MU.

My preferred brand is Avon, however you will find the others each have their champions.

If you have the narrow drive belt (1 1/8" wide) you will find a 150/80 will fit straight in!
