Default Tire wear

My front tire on my 2012 ultra limited reads 3/32 tread depth and I can see small weather cracks in the groves, tire has 16,500 miles approx. the manual says 1/32 any thoughts on this?

Not sure what your question is?

A front tire with 16.5K on it and cracks is due for a change.

From Tire Rack.com:
According to most states' laws, tires are legally worn out when they have worn down to 2/32" of remaining tread depth.

When in doubt, swap it out! You only ride on two, be sure they're in darn good condition. jmo.

Owners manual is saying 1/32 time to change it and some state laws are saying 2/32. I think I will be changing it out. I questioned it when I purchased the bike and the HD dealer said its good to go, I would think it should have been a safety issue and been changed before they sold it to me. Thx for all your input.

16,550mi on a tire?? What kind of tire is it? Is it OEM Michelin? I have never gotten anywhere near that kind of miles from a tire but I will need some soon so I am interested.
thanks.

I just checked my tires on my 2003 Dyna Low Rider with Dunlop 401's as they are down to 2/32 but then I checked the date code and found out that they are the original tires with a 3502 code = August, 2002. I have 16,500 miles on it. Bought it about 3 months ago. Going this afternoon pricing new ones.
