7 Other Bikes Harley Owners Have in Their Garages

A great many Harley owners didn't start out on a Hog; and quite a few just couldn't part with their first love. Take a look at what other rides Harley owners still have in their garages.

1. The Ural

There is no other bike that spells unique straight out of the box as the Ural. Complete with a sidecar, this ride is like a step back in time. Harley owners take a great deal of pride in their bikes; none can be much more proud than the owner of a great looking Ural, such as this 2013 TWD Tourist.

2. Suzuki Volusia

Suzuki's Volusia (which changed its nameplate to the Boulevard in 2005) is the venerable first ride of many. Like so many firsts, it's hard to forget and get rid of this one. The 800cc power plant on this bike is small enough for a first time rider, yet big enough for a veteran rider to zip around town. The Boulevard with its FI engine looks like a classic cruiser, but is nimble enough to have so much fun that you just can get rid of her.

3. Indian Big Chief

While there is no love-loss between the Indian and Harley, true bike enthusiasts would love to have both in their garage. Most common pairings are vintage Indians such as this 1923 Big Chief beauty sitting alongside a newer model Harley.

4. Yamaha FZ6

There are sport-bike riders and then there are cruisers. The two groups are separated by a huge chasm of disdain in many cases. The difference between a biker and a biking enthusiast is the plank that creates a bridge across this chasm. A biking enthusiast will derive great pleasure in the beauty and the love of anything on two wheels. The FZ6 is a great bike that fills the void between the world of crotch rockets and laid back heavy weight cruisers.

5. Honda CTX1300

It is hard to get into that comfort zone on a big cruiser and switch up to a small and nimble crotch rocket. Then there is the Honda CTX1300. This patches up that gap very nicely. This is one powerful, big and nimble sporty bike that many Harley owners will feel right at home on when they want to get into the twisties fast and have a whole new experience.

6. Kawasaki KX250

It is time to get dirty. Big boys like their toys and aren't afraid to get into the dirt and mud. Just because you own a Harley and love that big, loud heavy bike to sit back on and relax down the boulevard doesn't mean you have to give up jumping. Many Harley owners can relate to the polarity of the cruiser versus the dirtbike and can be just as happy on either. A drive down any subdivision street will prove that Harleys and dirtbikes can be parked side by side. The Kawasaki KX250 is one mean, dirt thumping ride for when you want to feel like a kid again.

7. BMW 1200GS

And then there are those who relish in the middle. BMW is not only a high class maker of great automobiles, they are on the top of almost everyone's list for the bike to have, especially a Harley owner. When you don't have a garage big enough for your Harley cruiser, an off road dirt bike and a city sportster, you do what BMW does best. Enter the GS1200, the dual sport bike that is as comfortable in the asphalt jungle as it is on the backroads dirt trails. This is a very popular bike in many garages sitting right next to that Street Glide.
