9 More Red, White, and Blue Harley Custom Paint Jobs
No bike lends itself better to the patriotic application of red, white, and blue paint better than a Harley-Davidson. We've already looked at some patriotic paint once before, but lets look at some more American pride laid out on metal.
1. Dirico Pro Street Custom - HFOT Raffle Bike
It is fitting that this sweet custom Dirico (a quality builder of Harley-esque cruisers) Pro Street is painted up with a custom, candy-colored, American flag paint job since it was raffled off for a veterans charity. In 2010 Home For our Troops, which builds and repairs houses for needy veterans, raffled this bike off for $100 a ticket. Whoever won it got a lot of motorcycle for just $100.
2. Road Glide Custom Chopper
Not only was this Road Glide converted into an awesome custom chopper, it was actually an Electra Glide first, converted into a Road Glide. The story of this bike involved an award winning chopper being stolen and totaled, and the owner trying to build something to out do his last bike. You can read all about it at Hot Bike.
3. Peter Sagal's Constitution Bagger
Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda famously set out to find America in Easy Rider, and years later Peter Sagal, from NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, made a documentary for PBS in which he cruised America to teach about the Constitution. The special is broken down into 4 hour long episodes, and they are all available to watch online. No matter who you are, or where you stand politically, chances are the show will teach you a thing or two.
4. Western Motor Cycle Co. Sovereign from GTA
This bike isn't a Harley-Davidson, though it looks like one, in fact, it doesn't exist at all. If you play video games you probably recognize this as the Sovereign from Grand Theft Auto, and according to the tank badge, is made by Western Motorcycle Company. This is just one of the many copies of actual cars, trucks, and bikes you can misbehave on in that game.
5. Patriotic Softail by Car Wrap City
This bike does exist, but that isn't a paint job; it's a wrap! Car Wrap City out of Texas aims to be the best wrap shop in the business, and they don't just do standard stuff on regular cars. They are a fully functional custom shop doing cars, trucks, busses, planes, bikes, and what have you, with everything from clear, to a single color, to full on custom graphics.
6. Memorial Day Wrapped Bagger by Pro DeZigns
One of the great things about vinyl wraps is that you can print anything on them that you can find a picture of, and in the case of this bagger that was an awesome patriotic eagle and flag scheme. If you are looking for an update on your bike to set it apart from the crowd and celebrate freedom, talk to your local sign shop. This particular bike was done by Pro DeZigns in Missouri.
7. Eric Buell Racing 1190RS American Sportbike
It really is a shame that Eric Buell has such a hard time staying in business because his unique sportbikes have a lot of homegrown American innovations baked into them. This is one of the last of bikes, with the water cooled Rotax motor, not the Harley Sportster based unit, but it still features the hollow frame filled with fuel and outside rim brake, he created for those bikes. The latest word is that they are out of the bike business again, for the third time.
8. Softail Paint Set by Barnett Harley-Davidson
Barnett Harley-Davidson, a big shop out of El Paso, Texas, has these pre-painted paint sets for sale to transform your Softail in just an afternoon. You can check out this patriotic paint set, and many others on their eBay store, but beware, they aren't cheap.
9. Boss Hoss Stars and Stripes Trike
Boss Hoss squeezes the maximum amount of V8 motor into a minimal sized bike or trike, and what is more American than that? This is the second over the top stars and stripes paint scheme on a V8 trike we've featured, but the first with a matching bikini and boots.
