Default 07 harleys

I have been hearing terrible stories about the 07 96CI harleys. tons of problems. Its a sure bet that there will be changes made in a hurry. I still stand by the rule of thumb NEVER BUY ANY THING THE FIRST YEAR OUT. It goes with out saying there will be modifications made to correct problems in future productions. I have heard about the heat problem the tranny problems and this engine has some over 70 new part numbers The dealers will play it down ill tell you this its already hurting them my local dealer is dead and sending techs home because its slow. I do not think there is a vehicle that was ever made that after the first year of a new model they did not make changes some time they are drastic. Time will tell.

The engines run hot...thanks EPA[:@] My 06 would bake you before I put the SERT on the bike.

The only real complaint I have heard is the tranny may have some latent problems but I think this is probably overstated. My dealer (who I trust) has not seen any appreciable change in warranty claims for 2007. The engine changes are not really that drastic. They fixed the pesky chain tensioners and improved the oil pump...guys have been doing this for years via the aftermarket. The stroker crank is not new...CVO bikes have had them for years. I don't see it as something new but rather a revised and improved motor. I am thinking about trading my 06 in on a 07. I can get the 07 for about the same money as doing a 95 build on my 06 and I still wont have the 6 speed.

Mine doesn't run hot,

it hits the rev limiter at 95 in 3rd and doesn't sound wound yet. It's got enough for me

I have not heard much for problems or complaints on the 07's. If they are so bad, why are they sending the tech's home? You would think it would be the opposite working on problems. It sounds like the maytag repair man to me.... no problems. I will trade up in a year or two. Not because of concerns but rather on the way the 07's kick the **** out of resale on late model bikes! Just turned 3000 flawless miles on mine and I ride this bike like I stole it! 07's are selling like hot cakes at my dealer. In fact they can't get rid of the 06's!
