Default ultra cvo-2007

I now have an '05 Road King with about 28,000 miles. Am considering going with an '07 ultra CVO. I love the looks and the features of the bike, but the cost is way out there. Any opinions about whether it is worth that much money?

If money is your issue then I'd say stay with your RK. I've got an 05 Ultra that I have $35K into and it has 34,000 miles on it. Before I got rid of my 06 CVO Ultra I added $5,000 in pipes, cams and other. After that it was another $4,700 to upgrade to a 6 speed. Total investment was very close to $50K. I got rid of it because my 05 Ultra was more comfortable touring and had more room in the storage areas. The comfort could have been resolved by putting an Air Zep on the CVO but that changes the look.

My 05 will be high mileage shortly and I'll probably dump it for an 08 or 09 CVO. I love the performance of a modified CVO. Out of the box they are a dog!

But again, if money is the issue I'd recommend you build on what you have. The CVO is not worth the extra bucks they are asking in performance and accessories.

Just my opinion and food for thought. Good luck with whatever you decide

Thanks for the info. Good to hear from someone that has been there. I never have had a CVO and the idea is intriguing-but like all things there is a price tag. I have to decide if it is worth it.
