Default Support The Troops

I have been putting together a group of people to help support the Troops in Iraq. I have read a stastic that 1 out of every 10 soldiers is getting mail. That is a lot of soldiers not getting mail or care packages in Iraq.

What I have done is started a group of guys to help network and get APO address of soldeirs in Iraq. What we would like is the estimated dates they will be coming home, name and address of a deployed soldier.

We have been gathering donations to purchase items that the guys would really like to see come in a package. Crossword puzzles, puzzles, beef jerkey, tang, peanuts, baby powder, anything that reminds them a little of home even a bottle of shampoo beats a bar of soap anyday. You would be surprised how greatful these guys are for anything they get.

Our goal is to have over $100k in items shipped to soldiers one year from now.

Please email all APO address to mailfortroops@yahoo.com

Lets not forget our wounded soldiers who may have been moved and are now stateside. They too deserve get well cards, and care packages.

Again please mail this info to mailfortroops@yahoo.com

Please repost this on Myspace, your blog, your favorite chatroom or forum board you frequent. The guys overseas need our help.

Thank you,

Deven

There are 15 addresses at OperationfromtheHeart. I will hook you all up by the end of the day, it may be late but they are coming!!!
If you take one of these addresses there is a request that you send at least one Package per month. It is a commitment folks, remember that . Remember, HDF Members are "ADOPTING"!! All of you that have requested addresses, they are coming shortly!

we are not strict on enforcements of the ONCE A MONTH rule. We find that most that get involved do not have issues with getting enough stuff to ship once a month.

Once you get involved , you are hooked....

We got the once a month covered - everything from this forum will be additional! thats always a good thing

Thanks for joining forces for the cause.

I just PM'd 18 members with addresses that they requested. All those that received addresses, Please PM me when you send one and i can update the list at OperationfromtheHeart. Thansk to ALL of you who are stepping up, and showing where your hearts are. If you noticed a Date at the bottom of your address that is the date that particular person is scheduled to return Stateside.
Once again, please notify me by PM when you ship a package, soI can update the list at OftH![sm=americanasmiley.gif]

Smitty, JOB WELL DONE!!!!

You guys are awesome, Smitty, my thanks. One of the biggest morale boosters while i was gone was mail. If you get mail that is addressed to you, oh man...that's the coolest. not to take anything away from the any-soldier, any-Marine programs, but when it's got YOUR name on the package, card, letter, etc.. it's the best thing that happened to you that day. I know my junior Marines would ask, Hey Sgt, we get any mail today? and i would watch their faces drop when i had to say no. but man they wouldn't shut up when they got mail, especially care packages from people they don't know. cause they know somebody somewhere supports them and what they're doing. Man, sitting here thinking about brings back to many memories. People, adopt somebody and send them something, anything. and when you send them something twice or more, they know that you actually are thinking about them on a regular basis. I got all kinda packages from many different people, but when i recognized an address twice, i thought man do these people care about me and what we're doing over here.
later, wanna

P.S. If you don't recieve a thank you or anything from your "adoptee" that doesn't mean that they don't like it or anything bad. Sometimes they only have the time to write their immediate family and thats it. Please don't feel that your deeds went unnoticed. trust me, mail call means the world.
