Just wanted to say hi and let everyone I got my first bike today. It is Dyna Wide Glide and I am so glad I invested in this. I do have a few questions though. Are there any pariticular quirks and specific need to knows about this bike. I am new to the bike world and will be taking a driving course within the next 2 weeks. Wow, nice ride. Just got a Low Rider and I am also new to the bike world. I just finished the bike course and found it to be well worth it; they use smaller bikes and will not teach you much about handling your Wide Glide. But you will be able to use the techniques when you practice on your bike.

The Wide Glide is a nice bike. You should get a lot of enjoyment from it.
My suggestion is that you complete the riders course, then go to a vacant parking lot, set up some cones and pratice. The Dynas have a tendency to fall off in the front at low speeds. Not a problem, just something you need to get used to, and it is best done with no distractions.
As soon as you are totally familiar with the bike and all the controls, go ride and have fun.
Instead of cones, get some tennis balls and cut them in half. They're brite and take up little space when you cart them out to the practice area. I don't know what state you are in but my state, Arizona, has an online practice course that shows how to set up your practice areas. You may find it at http://www.azdot.gov/mvd/driver/mcmanual/pguide.asp . Make sure that you check with the owners of the practice area to be sure that it is okay to use the area.

I think that you did a good job on getting the wide glide. I've sat on a few at the dealership and they felt great to me. Hope that you have a lot of good times on your new ride.

Yeah, I have pretty much done most of the work on the Z myself or have had a major hand in helping (cut down labor cost and I got to learn alot - esp. about paint and body work). I put the t-tops in myself and I have really modded the engine and suspension out pretty hard. I am shooting for 500 rwhp w/o the spray but I have a 150# wet kit ready to go just in case. Not bad for an old beat up 95 Z. I just got a feeling she may be on hold on those pretty days we have been seeng so much of here lately in Dallas/Fort Worth. Later..Ryan

Congrats Ryan, I can always appreciate someone doing their own work.
I've done bodywork most of my life, and am always impressed with the new products on the market. When I painted my bike parts, it's the 1st time I ever used the acrylic urathane.
I've used other systems including Imron, and found the acrylic clearcoat basecoat a real pleasue to use.
