I know this question has been asked before, but I need to ask it again.

Looking to upgrade my sportster to a bigger bike. Dyna's or a Softail? My riding will consist of mostly solo riding from home to work and some short trips maybe 200 miles or less with two up. I do not like the bulk look of the FL models. Any suggestions?

Don't rule out the Softail Standard. I also was checking out the Dyna's until someone pointed me in the direction of the softails. After alot of investigating, My 2004 Softail Standard is being delivered today. I think you get more bang for your buck with the FXST.

Don't know if I'd yell it quite that loud but the FXDL would be a good choice if you're just look'n to do short crusi'n....around town rides. Really depends on what you want kind of riding you're look'n to do. If you are look'n to do around town riding plus get out on the highway for some long (over 200 miles) crusi'n...look at the RoadKing. Have suggested this to a couple friends. They took my suggestion and love the RC. Always felt the RC is a good middle of the HD line.

I own a LowRider and a Ultra...use the LowRider for around town rides and anything up to 150 miles. Anything longer I roll out the Ultra.

I see your position. But I love my fxdl. I ride her everywhere 200 miles or shorter, dosnt matter to me. she is easy to handle, and has all the power of the larger bikes. with a chop feal.....no extra crap on her. But get the one you feel fits you best.

1st HD I rode was a Fatboy, so of course, I thought that was the bike for me.

Then I went to the local dealer and rented 'a bike a month'. After about 6 months it turned out that a Road Glide fit my area/lifestyle/roads/intrest the best.

My advise would be to rent the bikes you're interested in and then write the 'big' check...

LOWRIDER or a NIGHT TRAIN is also a nice ride. SuperGlides are also nice bikes, it's how much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ you have to spend.

Good Luck with your choice
