06 VRSCD -- bought it in september and even with the fact I live in Montana I've got over 1200 miles on it already. It's still stock except for a mid-sport windscreen. I'll be ordering the 5Gal fuel upgrade sometime too, have to save up the cash for it, definitely a necessary addon on the 06's with that 3Gal tank. :/

Mine's the VRSCA 05 model bought with just 2200 miles and a boatload of chrome extras on it, added the detachable touring screen, I'm ready to ride through Spain in June! Done 2500 miles in the 5 weeks I've had it.

I have an 06 vrscr new in Oct. 06 and have over 8600 miles as of today. Like riding so much I am going to ride home every day after  being at Kingman AZ Mother Road HD on Friday to assist the HOG chapter with a So.Cal. HD dealer poker run [ at least I think thats whos poker run it is }. It is different then the poker run on Saturday to Chloride AZ that is part of the Laughlin river run. Other days I am just going to enjoy what every is happening and will be all over the place.

I am studying for my permit and will be ready to go very shortly.  I also belong to 1130.com.  I am not here to bash anyone.  I don't like having to choose either/or on forums.

I am trying to learn as much about my bike as possible and make friends.  If this is another bashing forum, then just remove me.

Can we not get through the day without bashing another forum and concentrate on the one we're on?

Welcome Pattio, glad to see you over here.

I think you may have the wrong impression about some of the forums. None I've been to are focused/designed to bash anyone.

Now you have to take some pictures of that D.

oldfartjc,

i don't know your age and you may be older than i, however, at 50, i ain't considered part of the younger crowd.  i think it is more personal preference.

Hello All,

Tomorrow is the day I will be handing over the check for a 2005 VRSCSE Candy Cherry/Dark Candy Cherry. It is all stock except for new front brake upgrades and lower profile mirrors. Mint, Mint condition. Man, I have been lurking here and at 1130cc.com for many nights, and now I can participate. I actually walked into a dealer about two months ago prepared to purchase a Road King Custom but I saw a line of various V-rods and I had to sit on all of them. After about an hour of this I walked out of the dealership undecided on which bike to purchase. So I joined here and 1130cc and started to research and learn all I could about V-Rods. I feel as though I have been inducted into this V-Rod thing. Anyway, I will be the proud owner of an awesome chromed out VRSC SE tomorrow. I am curious about what my air cooled friends will have to say when they see my radical change of mind.

I will be crusing through many New England country roads this summer and especially this fall.

Necroposting, but I'm new here so TTT with this thread...

Bought my '07 VRSCDX Vivid Black/Demin Black in August '06 about a week after the dealer in Lincoln got their first (and only in the midwest). I put about 1500 miles on it in a month before I had to deploy. Unfortunately I also put it down. Luckily it was a soft putdown (bonehead move out of my drive way...) I was backing up, coasting down our steep driveway when my rear tire hit the portion that meets the street, I realized I was travelling a bit faster than normal and as a knee-jerk reaction grabbed the front brake with my right hand. Little did I know the front tire was on some gravel. The front tired locked up and jerked the wheel right, pulling my left shoulder out of socket and slamming to the ground, spinning and sliding in to the street. The good news is the damage was sustained completely by the brake lever up top, and on the bottom the foot peg. The foot peg snapped from the frame, which had me freaking out, thinking I would need to buy a whole new frame, luckily I found out shortly that the frame is sectional, and would only need a $250 section of frame. Bad part was it jerked the whole brake system and FUBAR'ed my master cylinder, which was a penny or two. Other than that the exhaust took some scratches, but it was still stock, so no worries there (just ordered my new pipes, PC3, and air filter actually >:). So that is my story, and since this is one of a few unblocked sites at my base I'm sure I'll be lurking/posting more in the near future.

Since this thread got revived, I think it's pretty obvious from other threads how much we like our 06D. We had to buy used. We couldn't find a new D anywhere in Nov 06 and didn't want to wait an undetermined amount of time for a new one. Since the black on red that suited us best wouldn't be available for 07, we bought this one. No regrets and I ride the daily grind and stretch it out on the weekends when my wife can go also.
We'll more than likely get a V-bagger when it comes out.
Same screen name here, 1130cc and AIM.

2003 VRSCA - I love the bike.  I am also becoming a fan of the Sportster for a completely different kind of ride.

I hear that both are considered "half a Harley" by the snobs.  I love 'em both!!!

How are you? I've fooled you with the paint that was on it, it's actually a 2006 A that use to have Lava Red skins.

I own a 2006 Street Rod.

The dealership fixed the "clunk."  They traced it down to neck cups not being fully pressed into the frame.
We think we recently fixed the front brake wobble.  Not only were the original pads and rotors to blame, but we think the 10-spoke wheels had some harmonic problems which put the wave washers in a bind.  Now we have the new satin black 5-spoke wheels on it.

I've got 7600 miles on it.  I'll try and update the picture.  This was when it was new two years ago.

This is my fourth Harley.  The Softail below was my first and I still have it.
Bought and sold a '79 FLH (used) and a '00 RoadKing in between.

Mine is a 2008 DX, stock with windshield, luggage rack, passenger back rest, extra wide da, and bags. I plan on adding/modding exhaust, bars, tag mount, turn signals, rear fender, and thinking about ram air air box cover with dig/guages.

Congrats on the Harley man . I'm new to the forum as well, but unfortunately I'm not in the position to own one right now. I can still gawk and dream though. Anyways enjoy your ride and be safe...
