Default Water boils at 190

I got the hd temp guage and it's inaccurate as it gets! I put it in boiling water and the guage only reaches 190 degress. Now I know that water boiling temp can vary with altitude and pressure, but not by 22 degrees. I used a water boiling calculator and taking into account the current barometric pressure and elevation water should boil at 211.2 degrees where I live. To be fair, that only makes it inaccurate by 21 degrees. And they charge $50 for this thing? I wonder how much more accuracy costs.

Default RE: Water boils at 190

I've got the digital thermometer for my Ultra more like $100.00 for this bad boy. I was told that they are known to be innacurate. So I boiled mine with a digital and analog meat thermometer. It was balls on, dead accurate. However, within a month, it had so much moisture condensed in the display that I couldn't read it. My dealer exchanged it (they had a couple others come back with moisture problems). My second one was "tested" just like my first and reads 4 degrees lower than the digital or analog meat ones.
