Default 07 fact or fiction?

I am seriously thinking of an 08 Ultra next year. I will never buy a first year model, but I have heard lots of talk about problems with 07 tranny's and overheating. I also have read on other forums HD is already too far into 08 to make any needed changes, so these problems will remain. Are these problems real or just a few odd bikes or is it a problem at all? I may have to wait until 09 for the problems to be identified and time to make needed changes. Just curious of your opinions. Merry Christmas all.

I would have missed a whole year of riding if I hadn't bought my '06 Wide Glide with the new 6 speed transmission. Zero problems.

Seems to me that every year model that comes out thereis always a group of people that bitch and moan about everything. When I bought my '06 all I saw were posts on bad injectors and bad motor mounts. I have the old style injector and motor mount on my bike and with 8k miles on it ZERO problems. Everybody I know from my dealership with an '06 has zero problems. I have met several people with the new '07's and none of them have any problems with noisy 5th gear or overheating.

I'm not sayingsomepeople don't have problems I just think its not quite as widespread as people like to make us believe.

I have an '07 Ultra that I bought in August and am very happy with it. The transmission has a different sound but that is because it is a different design. 5th gear is a little noisier than 4th or 6th but nothing bothersome. The heat coming off of the engine is possibly a little hotter than earlier models but I am not even sure of that. Go for the new bike and enjoy in my opinion.

Be careful certain people in our forum get mad when people say they have no problems, just wait they will chime in.

The 'too late' part is fiction. If that were true, the 06 Dynas' problems would not have been fixed by the time I bought one in July.

I wouldnt wait at all. I have no idea what the moco will do 2 years down the road with the epa requirements. Got an 07 Ultra Classic on order with a Feb build and delivery date! Cant wait to get back on 2 wheels again.

YMMV.
