Hey Guys,
I know the media does not give as much space to you as they did when the war was fresh, but always remember that you are never far from the minds of the vast majority of Americans.  We are proud of you all!!  Keep your heads down and your spirits high!!  Thank You for your service!!

You bet your military!  The navy provides a valuable service - Each branch of service does!

Need information on Quatar..My son is going to go there under Dyncorp to work..I am just curious about his safety...he has a family and he is doing this for the money, (Less than $38,000)...I don't want him to sacrifice himself if this is a dangerous place..I am proud of the service men and women who are there, don't get me wrong..he has no military background, just an Army brat..whose had bad luck...If he could the service, he do it in a heartbeat...he is color blind and a few more things..

If anyone can give me a background before he leaves..please don't hestitate to tell me..everyone is telling him it is a mini vacation...I just don't believe that...He is going to Camp Alluduh (?)...thanks

I have done a couple tours for OEF, now am going to do OIF.

I am young and have found some very valuable places to be a part of.  Especially for people who ride.

The VFW
The American Legion

In my area the VFW and Legion have rider groups/club.  One thing that i have found to like about them is that they have a clear mission statement.  My local ones have an inner obligation to help vets, servicemembers, and spouses RIGHT NOW.  They have call rosters to help with household stuff while a servicemember is deployed.  They do toy runs/ support runs to retirement homes to visit vets.  Stuff that ANY VET/ Servicemember would be proud to be a part of.

DS/DS           IMEF
OIF I and II    1MARDIV
and a crap load of other deployments before and after.  Currently relaxing here in Okinawa.

Thanks guys for all you do.  Take it easy and give your families time to adjust as well.  These deployments are also hard on them.  Thankfully we have the net to stay in touch with those brothers that we served with.  I've got buddies from DS that I email all the time.  Other than pics haven't seen many of them in 15+ years.
The American Legion Riders are big over here.  Good bunch of guys, all branches, active retired and former.  I'm going to look into the Leathernecks when I finally figure out where I'm gonna retire.

JMERR01, if you are in Hawaii, look for SFC Bugland (Buggs). Hes a Bro, and worked at DIV HQ (25ID) when I met him last year at Speicher. Seems like he was in the IED defeat cell then.
He might know (tell him DUTCH says hi).

National Guard, going on 27 years...no retirement in sight.  Currently working fulltime as a backfill for a mobilized unit and will be preparing to go "somewhere" in 2010.
You guys that are overseas somewhere now should keep in mind that your brothers are with you.  If you need something let us know.  God bless you.
