Wife, Michelle wants to head to Wisconsin Dells, WI this summer. She hasn't been there since she was a little girl. Am wanting to avoid the middle of July as our son should be in Babe Ruth All Star competition. She thinks going in August is too late. I don't expect cold weather then, or am I the one that's nuts?
Also, will be looking for a nice and inexpensive place to stay for the 3 or 4 days we are there. Anyone up that way have any recommendations as to where and when to go?
Sean & I rode up that way last July to see some friends. We actually went to Tomah, WI but that is near the Dells. You know I never knew how beautiful it was up that way. Anyway, you might PM buckanddot. They live in Tomah and would be able to help you out with recomendations. Buck & Dot took us on an awesome ride while we were up there.

The weather that time of year can vary but should be nice. Although in 2001 I hit a record heat wave all across Minnesota,Wisconsin,Michigan, and Canada.
It is beautiful country though and should be nice weather!

I live in Spring Green, WI, about 45 miles south and west of the Dells. The cost of staying in the Dells can vary widely depending on if you want to stay at a waterpark resort or just in a motel. The motels in the nearby towns (Baraboo, Sauk City, Mauston) would be less expensive. There are many scenic and winding roads in the area through the driftless area of Wisconsin.
Biker, on your way up stop by http://www.almuth-harleydavidson.com/ Nice little shop, good folks. They have a really neat, huge, carved eagle outfront of their shop. Tim
