RE: street rod, v-rod suspension
I haven't ridden the sportster, but compared to a softail suspension, my streetrod's is a lot stiffer. I avoid hitting bumps as much as i can, I often stand on my pegs if i am going to hit a bump - in part because i don't want to damage my bike, and also because you do feel the road. And Canadian roads are usually very ugly right through late spring.
The flip side is that I can corner very, very hard - i have caught my toe shifting in a corner a couple times... I completely suprised myself because i didn't think i could get that far over!
It is a different ride. If you are looking to cruise, the StreetRod is prob not your gig, but if you like to give'r a lot and still have a smooth ride to get around, then she is what you are all about!
