Default ABS Plastic Fenders?

I am wondering if anyone knows or has installed an ABS plastic fender(s) on their Harley and how it holds up compared to steel fenders. I saw an Arlen Ness Cafe Front Fender, which looks pretty cool, but it is ABS plastic. The price is right also. I am getting ready to have my 2000 Sportster painted. I need to make a decision soon so any advice will be very helpful.

Thanks for any comments and or advice, 00hawg

My old Gold Wing had an ABS front fender; no problem, of course it don't act like a paint shaker either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have had problems with paint oxidizing and hazing more on a old solid colour plastic fender. (the plastics were old though) It may have been from the solvent base U.V. protectant clear breaking down with the freer movement of plastics. Ness should have a good product, but I would ask your painter.

Shouldn't be a problem, however like Scout says, check with your painter.
