No reason given... speculation in the press is that some of the core Devils did not like him.  I don't think that made a difference as to their end of this season.  Got to credit Lou Lamerillo, he will do whatever it takes to give a team a chance to win, as proven by making the playoffs every year for the last 10.
Conference finals should be good this year.  I think it's the Sens vs. Ducks (I'd rather the Wings, but I think the Ducks have the edge in youth/speed).  Sens take Stanley home.

Anyone think the Sens can pull it off now?  I was thinking they would have taken it in 6.  Giggy's hot and the Sens seem tired.

Love ice hockey ! MY favorite player of ALL TIME was bernard marcel parent .....Most called him bernie......Played goalie for philadelphia back in the 70s.....With out question the most technically sound stand up goal tender that ever put on the pads !!!!! That cat was AWESOME !
Philly won 2 cups with bernie tween the pipes.....Just an absolute lights out goalie....An injury shortened his career a few years....But it was great watching him play back then in philly...

I played goalie myself for a few years, and always tried to emulate bernies style of goal tending..His style is no longer in vogue....ALL goalies these days are butterfly style ...Which is taught at Every goal tending school that i know of .....Things change !

I Live in Hernando Mississippi and here in the hockey capital on the world we have the Memphis Riverkings. My family has been Season Ticket Holders for 5 years and we could do without Hockey. In case you are wondering , they are in the CHL which is a minor league team and a farm team of the Rangers. We won the President Cup 2 years in a row a few years back and went to the finals of our division this year before getting beat out by the Colorado Eagle . They won the who;e thing................... Favorite Player or the best NHL player ever; in my opinion;

Robert G. Orr -aka- Bobby Orr.

Favorite Team; No one team, in particular.
Lean towards the Original 6 teams & the teams of 67 expansion, or the old school NHL.
During NHL season, I watch NHL Center Ice & pretty much watch hockey, 7 nights a week.
It doesn't matter who is playing, I am watching.
If the opportunity presents itself, I will catch a flight and pick up a pair of tickets, to go to a NHL game, especially if their is tradition involved. Boston vs Montreal or Edmonton vs Calgary, etc, etc.

I disagree though, believe todays NHL will shrink.
Over expansion & the Lock Out, we have not seen all the casualties from the 04-05 lockout.
The fact that Bettman is Anti Canada, is going to kill the NHL.
Think about it;
Balsillie sold out a stadium, of 18,000 season ticket holders in Hamilton, on a RUMOR, that he was going to buy the Nashville Predators and eventually move them to Canada in a couple of years.
Yet, Bettman sabotages every effort to relocate a team back to Canada.
I think somewhere between 2010 - 2012, we will see the NHL at 24 teams.

The Flames were my favourite, but now with Iron Mike behind the bench I'm not so sure - that guy has screwed up a lot of good teams.  now I'd have to go with the Sens.

You say the next best goaltender ever. Just curious.
Who's the best?
Patrick Roy perhaps.

Blackhawks. On their way back. What's the Nashville rumors I'm reading here? Didn't know anything. Milwaukee'd be a good spot for 'em. I like the idea of less teams. Less **** ass European players too.

My team the Flames although I don't believe they will go deep in the playoffs. Gotta go with Iggy for fave player, I don't think there is a better 2way player out there. With the trade deadline a week away anything can happen. My pick out of the east is Ottawa, in the west I'm going with Anaheim. Outside chance, I'm thinking Jersey east, Dallas west.

I must say...the Wild have the best uniforms of the new teams. I like their retro jersey, but how can you can come up with a retro jersey when you have no retro? They did it though. Most of the uniforms nowadays look like they should be in comic books.  All the retro jerseys from when the WHA joined the NHL and back are pretty good. But the best uniform in all of sports is the Blackhawk red (used to be the away, now it's the home).

5 to 0 comeback today winning 6 to 5 in shoot-outs.
Biggest comeback in it's franchise history, And what a
history the Habs have.

i played for 15 years (not professional) and i'm from pittsburgh so i like the penguins and grew up in the time of mario lemieux and jaromir jagr playing together and dont think there has been any 2 player combo that can beat that. providing mario was healthy enough to play.
always liked pual coffey too.
as for this years predictions....it hard to say. looks like a pretty good race right now for top spots, unless your team is in the red wings division. i'd like to see the pens go, but they are all still really young and not sure if they have the experience yet. like last years playoffs, they didnt know what hit them. and its hard to go against the red wings when all they do is win.
so i say detroit will go for the west. and for the east....eenie meenie miney moe.........

I'm a red wings fan but they better get their heads out of their asses otherwise It'll be another year of being the best in reg. and doing nothing in the playoffs.

Go Caps.  Playing better than any NHL team right now.  Look out.  Ovechkin is by far the best player in the league.  Forget about Sid the kid, it all about Ovie.

I'm not a huge hockey fan - but the Caps are the local team so they are my team.  There is no denying they are a contending team after going from worst to first.  C - A - P - S - caps, caps, caps

Live outside of Raleigh NC. Carolina Hurricanes fan here. I grew up in NJ watching the Rangers, then followed the Devils. I absolutely despise the Flyers.

Very disappointing the Hurricanes did not make the playoffs. Their defense is a little past their prime.

Early on I was a big Phil Esposito fan. I have also liked Ray Bourque. Very classy guy. Current favorite is Scott Neidermeyer.
