I am tired of wearing Goggles over glasses (Pain in the A$$). I am thinking of getting the Panoptx (Scirroco) with prescription lenses. Anyone with comments or suggestions on the cxheapest place to get them??

I got mine from Eye Lenses Inc when I was at Myrtle Beach. They take your old glasses and run them under a machine that reads the prescription in them and then grind the lenses on the spot and you have a new pair in about an hour. But they do have a web site. http://www.eyelensex4u.com I paid $341.85 last year for them just to give you an idea. That price included all their options. I like them for the most part. They are a bit heavy and the gasket makes them stick out pass your nose a bit. That also block some of your peripheral vision. The best part is that they take most of the wind away that blows in your eyes. And I like the auto darkening part so I can wear them night or day. They do fog in the cold while sitting at a light but clear up when you ride. Although when I wore them once in a full face helmet and I had to keep the shield open 1/2 inch or they fogged a little while wearing a face mask. They do them in bifocals with transitions so they look good. Eye Lenses was a little cheaper and have a few more options than Panoptx offers. I think I might look at the new WileyX style to see if they fit closer to my face when I go back to their display.

Thanks for the info. I will check them out. FYI I tried on the WileyX and did not like them as much as the Panoptx. The only Panoptx that I like are the Scirocco, however they have discontinued them and replaced with Churada. The Churada did not fit well. I contacted Panoptx directly and they may do something for me. I will know in a week.

Apparently not many people on here wear prescription glasses so I will update my own post. Panoptx seems to be the best solution and have good customer service. They do bifocals however they do not offer the progressive style lense. The bifocal would ahve a line. I decided to get them for riding and did not elect for the bifocal. We will see how long it takes for delivery.

The real key is to try on multiple pairs of different glasses and pick the one that provides the tightest seal around the eyes. The Wiley-X fit best for me, I think it was the JP-2.

UPDATE: I got my glasses back from Panoptx yesterday. They fit great and the prescription is crystal clear. Like I said before Panoptx has good customer service and delivers in a timely fashion.

ORIGINAL: iowacruiser I just went to my eye doctor and picked out a set of RayBan sunglasses I liked and had them fit perscription lenses into them. Cheaper and I could get exactly what I wanted in tints, lens options, etc. That's what I did. I was able to get poloraized, progressive, etc. $129 out of pocket, insurance covered the rest. The RayBans I got were the BigDaddy model, which have a slight curve and decent cover from the wind. It's nice being able to read street signs AND the gages on the consol!
