These helmets are awesome. They are lightweight, dot approved and aren't very big. The company is excellent to deal with.
They will work with you until the helmet is just as you want it. Lead time is about 4-5 weeks. They are 100% interested in your satisfaction, even after the sale.
[align=left]I am somewhat disappointed in ACC's service, sizing and quality.
I initally ordered a DOT, Polo, Black Candy, Size M/L on, 03/12/07. The helmet was was received on 03/14/07. After trying the helmet several times I realized that helmet was too small, even though my measurements are tin the middle of range for a Size M/L. I called ACC, the lady on the phone suggested that I exchange for a Size L. I shipped the helmet back to ACC and received a replacement on 0327/07. I put the newly arrived helmet on and the helmet was still tight with the medium thickness pad. I replaced that pad with the thinnest pad and the helmet seemd to fit better. I then looked in the mirror and noticed that by lookin at the brim the helmet seemed to be sitting crooked on my head. I straightened the helmet so the brim seemed straight and then the helmet was very crooked on my ears. I removed the helmet and examined the brim, only to find that the brim was almost a quarter of an inch longer on the right side than on the lift side. I called ACC, they said they would ship another out that afternoon, after inspecting it. They would also include a return shipping label due to the defect in the helmet.
Today, 04/02/07, I received the third helmet from ACC and jokingly said to my daughter that I hope the third time was the charm. Upon opening the box I saw that there was a crayon like writing on the helmet. I was able to remove a little of the substance by wetting a finger and rubbing slightly and thought it would be no big deal to remove the remainder. I tried the helmet on and again had to place the thinnest pad for the best fit. I then tried to buckle the helmet and discovered that the ear straps only came down to just past mid ear. The first two helmets the ear straps were below the ear, where they should be. I again called ACC and they will ship an exchange this afternoon, with return shipping for the helmet I had just received.
I really like the look and weight of the ACC and think I have been more than patient with ACC, but I will ask for a full refund if this last exchange is not perfect. With the amount of money that these helmets cost, one should receive better service than this.
Received the helmet today (04/04/2007). All is good.
Sounds to me like they are helping every time you call. I have the good fortune of being able to drive to their location so it makes fitting alot easier. I did have to send mine back to get the rivets moved forward an inch because at 60 mph the lid wanted to ride back on my head. They have to make a new one so it will be about 4 weeks on the replacement. But I have found that they will help you until it is right. Hopefully they will get it right for you and then if you ever need another one from them, they will know exactly what you need.
I called them today to order a helmet but decided while on the phone to ride the 200 miles to ensure proper fit etc. My ride back while wearing my new helmet was much more comfortable than the ride up. I am very happy and got the opinion they will do whatever it takes to make you happy. I love my new helmet. I also got 10% off for a walk in and an additional 10% for being a member here.
got mine and went riding this weekend. 100% better than my hd half helmet. I will definately give them more of my business. I didnt know they offered hdf members a discount, but will have to use that on my next purchase.
