Hey guys,

Got a 2005 SEEG and while running along the highway the volt meter is running between 14 and a half and 15 Volts, just installed a new battery and have it charged it all the way up with a battery tender.

I don't want to "cook" the new battery, can anyone verify that this is a normal area for the volt meter to live in while crusing? At idle with motor at operating temperature, volt meter is around the mid 13V area, this seems normal to me but the 14.5v~15V range seems high to me, just looking for some opinions from fellow CVO owners,

Sounds like it's right by the book to me= no problem. Should be about 14.5, of coarse, depends what's operating and RPM.

Yep... 14.5 is good. Ya gotta put back in more than you're suckin' out of it or the battery will never fully charge. I don't trust the gages personally.. If I want to know what's cookin' under the seat, I read the battery voltage at high idle with a multimeter.

Just wanted to make sure since the bike had a 4 month old jap battery someone installed before I got it and it was fine, even started the bike in single diget temps.

I took it for a 100 mile cruise and went to start the bike 4 days later and it was dead as a door nail, battrey didn't seem to want to come back after a charge so I put the correct Harley battery back in it. Been fine ever since..


Thought the high voltage may have had something to do with the dead battery mystery.
