On Saturday I had one of those perfect bike days. You know the one, where the weather is perfect, the scenery is stunning and everythng just goes great.
I set out from my home at around 11am with no particular idea of where I was heading. I live in the North West of England and I am lucky to be in an hours ride of three national parks.
I decided to head north to Settle. This is a small market town which is a bit of a mecca for bikes as the surrounding roads and scenery are fantastic. Whilst heading up there I decided to take the back roads ( most of which were new to me). Well, what a discovery. The small hamlets and roads with nothing for company was magic. I rode for miles and miles without passing a car. I ended up in a small village which had tourist sign posts for witches ! I didn`t stay there for long, due to having a small mole on my neck. Didn`t fancy the locals lynching me.
Then got to Settle and had a well earned cup of tea andhada look at allall the many bikes on show and thoese that went by. From here, I headed further north into the Yorkshire Dales National Park to Malham. Malham is famous for Malham Cove, a huge limestone cove, once I am told carried more water than Niagra Falls.
Ihave posted some pictures for interest.I hope you like them.
