Default visit of ball parks

Hello All,

I have been a long time baseball fan and wanted to share this experience. Please keep in mind that I am a country boy that has lived my whole life in a rural community (population less than 2000) on the northern edge of the everglades in South Florida. I have only seen snow twiceand figured out that I don't care if I ever see it again. Too COLD!

Summer before last, my wife of 27 years, my oldest son now 23, and my youngest son now 20, took a family vacation to remember. Short lists of visits and impressions.

1. Turner Field = impressive technology for a ball park

2. Wrigley Field = Fascinating history.

3. Pro Football Hall of Fame = very interesting. remembrance of child hood idles.

4. Pro baseball Hall of Fame = Same as Football Hall of Fame

5. HD assembly plant in York Pa. WOW!!!!

6.Fenway Park = Favorite of all parks. The history is felt, the friendly fans,They talk totally different than me. Can't wait to go back.

7. Yankee Stadium = I saw Jeter's first career grand slam. Rude obnoxious fans.

8. Site of World Trade Center = Sombering feeling. I hate the traffic. Will never go back to that area. Driver's are so inconsiderate of others. Lucky to get out of there with fenders on my pick up.

9. The cost of Maine = Beautiful

I hope you went to the York open house factory tour, because you get to go through the Softail and the Bagger plant.

Yes, We did take the factory tour. Very interesting. Especially when we went by the cvo section and I could see that the workers in an enclosed booth assembling the bikes looked like doctors in their suits. They explained that each cvo bike is assembled by a team and by hand, not on the production line. When my bike was "born" in 1998 they were assembled in the York plant.

Yes,

Fenway is my absolute favorite. There's just something magical in the blend of the old and new. That's why I also like Camden Yards in Baltimore. Great ballpark! They have kept the old-world feels and mixed in the new as well. While styles may change, that feeling should be kept by all designers.

Where did you go in Maine?

Southern part on the coast. I can't remember the name of the town we stayed. If I think about it a while, I will probably remember. Beautiful!! My only visit in the New England states in my whole life. I would love to see it in the fall. In Florida I say we have 2 seasons wet and dry. I have lived in South Florida on Lake Okeechobee all my life. Yea, a real native Floridian. Not many of them any more. It is so different up there. It was summer of 2005 when we were there and it was the lowest high temperature on record (38 I think), for those 2 days we were there. Too me that is cold. In Florida if it gets below 60 I am cold. I have only seen snow twice in my life and don't care if I ever see it again. Beautiful to look at, but too cold for me. Man, I would hate to have to work in it.

I think there is a huge outdoor sporting goods store in Kittery. I know I stop by there somewhere near Kittery everytime I go. There's a river waterway in northern Maine called the Allagash. It's over 100 miles of lakes and rivers and empties into the St. John's river (Canadian border). Me and my best friend go up to canoe. Usually takes about 1 week to make the trip from start to finish. No motorcraft allowed, except for the Rangers. Without a doubt, the best wilderness in the lower 48. So much moose, bald eagle, deer, etc. For me, its a photographer's dream. Also, we caught so much fish we got tired of catching fish. If you don't like the cold, then it would be a bad trip. Even in August the temps get down into the lower 50's - upper 40's.

Anyway, enjoy the ballparks.
