Did you read the Mikuni tuning manual?

Yes...several times. My grip has been marked with throttle settings for 4 days now. Hope itcomes off!

From 1/8 to 3/4 throttle opening is the needle. Above that is the main jet.Is it lean in that range or from 3/4 on?
|
It was...last night I dropped in a -170 main (previously was a -165). Now I thing I'm fat from 3/4 on. A -167.5 might be the ticket there.

...If your idle screw is only 1 turn out it sounds like the pilot jet maybe to rich. Somewhere around two turns out is supposed to be right.

Too rich? I thought that meant it was too lean.
Tell me if I'm wrong (cause I really don't know for sure). I went from a -25 to a -27.5 pilot (slow) jet whichallows
more fuel in at low throttle settings. Opening the pilot screw will allow
more air in at low throttle settings. If I want to open the pilot screw up another turn to 2 turns out to allow more air in, I would also have to bump the jet up to a -30 to allow more fuel with it. Right???? What is not right about this? I be confused.
I'd like to get the idle circuit squared away so I can focus on the needle position.
