just saw the floyd mayweather vs. oscar de la hoya fight...pretty okay i guess. i thought de la hoya did very well, inspite of his age disadvantage. so okay, a split decision to mayweather, did the judges get it right? i thought it should have been the other way around, the victory to de la hoya on points for his aggressiveness and initiating most of the contact. what did you guys think? anyone else see the fight?

According to this mornings paper, the computer showed the judges were right. I forget the exact numbers but Mayweather got alot more hits than Oscar did.
LOL boxing is funny to watch now that we have real fighters to watch.
MMA 4 Life.
i agree with you. this is exactly why this fight was so important. mayweather v. de la hoya might very well be the last "great" fight in boxing history, eventhough it wasn't all that exciting a contest. ultimate fighting is going to take over, has ALREADY taken over. boxing is finally dying under its own weight of corruption. the younger audiences today are NOT caring about boxing -- they're watching UFC.
long gone are the days when realdraws like ALI, RAY LEONARD, TOMMY HEARNS, HAGGLER, MIKE TYSON (whether you love him or hate him), ROY JONES JR., HOLYFIELD...when these superstars literally carried the sport on their shoulders alone. had it not been for the likes of these men, and de la hoya has to be counted among them, boxing would have reached extinction twenty, thirty years ago. now that this fight is in the books, you can say 'goodbye' to boxing for good, with few if any potential saviors on the horizon.
