Thanks for the kind words firefox. As for the black thunderstar, I purchased one for my bike too, they are around $400 retail, can be had for $320ish from M&M, Chicago H-D, etc. 43773-00 is the part number, they were on back order for a little bit. Can't wait to get my bike finished, a wee bit over 3 weeks until Daytona!

I just got around to snapping a couple of pics since I added a few Mods. Black Lowers Black Triple Trees Wild 1 501 T-Bars Luggage Rack V&H Big Shot Staggereds Kuryakyn(or how ever the hell you spell it) Iso Grips with the throttle thing. I thought changing all of the front end would be a big hassle, but with thumbing through the DIY section on the forum and my trusty manual, It was a piece of cake. ( a big thanks to all who contributed to the DIY stuff ) Also....FYI During the Hurricane last year I was without power for 5 days, and was extreeeeeeemly bored. I made a couple extra Timer covers in some Diamond Plating I had laying around. I have not drilled the holes yet, so it could probably fit a 2 hole or a 5 hole cover. Or If you like, I can drill it to match mine.. It is a 5 hole. I am not looking for $$ just whatever shipping would be. They could go in a padded envelope and should not cost more that a buck or two. Thanks. The first thing I need to do is pipes...any suggestions? Something that will really essenuate the HD engine, but not pissed the neighbors off. I also purchased an additional 2 year warranty, and in hinde sight this was probably a bad idea.

ORIGINAL: Hard hittin I own the 2005 model and want to get rid of the BadLander seat. I was looking for a two up with backrest ans possible rack, but I want comfort and style without spendin over $500.00...... can anyone give me some suggestions, Thanks. I replaced the Badlander on my 05 Train with a BAR Industries Hitchhiker seat. You can see what it looks like in my sig pic. I got the Millenium foam on the driver's portion, and no-split. It has a built-in lumbar support, and comes up my back about 7". It also sits me lower, by about an inch, into the bike. An awesome seat! The sissybar is all HD. Cheers!

Been doing a little work on my Train and thought I'd post a couple progress pics....... Installed Platinum Air Suspension and started a side plate mount The mount and frame will end up black, of course, and have Lite N Bolt plate lights. It will utilize the rear peg bolt hole I have finished trimming, filing and sanding the tailight mount (pic is pre-completion). Still need to paint it, but considering dropping it altogether and running the Biketronics BT300 run/turn/brake modules on the rear signals with red lenses.

I can go from this....... to this (or anywhere in between in less than 15 secs)....... The air ride is great! I can adjust height and ride quality at any height.

Well.... Finally, after 5 long months of waiting for parts to come back, and paint to arrive, it's finally here and in my garage. This is my Bike.. http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=548409420&ran=5521 It started out as a Train, but the real reason for ordering a Train was to get the all black, chromeless engine. It's a 95" flat top build with 204 cams, Baisley bypass and heads that were worked on at my fantastic dealer, HD of Jamestown, NY The heads, jugs and "Finned Collection" of derby, timing, primary inspection and trans cover were sent out for diamond cutting. The pictures do it no justice. The entire bike has had every piece of zinc hardware or coated aluminum either chromed or Hot Topped. The paint is Harley Spectrum, and wow, what a beautiful job. The parts were all MoCo, except for V&H pipes, Wimmer intake and Kury mirrors. Anyway, I'm pretty excited because this is my first Harley, and first bike in over 18 years.. Thumbnail Image

They fit perfect and were a very easy install (I'm no motorcycle mechanic -or anywhere near it either). I love the sound and performance but only have the stock pipes and the V&H pipes on my Heritage to compare with.

ORIGINAL: Tx_Outlaw Thank you Dusty and Nightpork! The pipes are RB Racing. Nice ride George! TX did they fit good and are you happy with the performance? I'm in Australia and I am considering getting them. I will get the ceramic black with chrome heat shields. I already have 2>1 exhaust but when I saw the RB racing it was love at first sight! RB Racing pipes are the best, period! These guys know how to make horsepower. I have a set on my '02 Night Train and plan on putting them on a 114" Shovelhead build I've got coming up. Link to RB Racing. Not a good photo. I just went out to the garage and snapped it. Bikes dirty, etc. I'll get a better pic soon. Plus, this bike is slated to get a 95" build as soon as my heads come in from my guy doing the flowing. I bought an extra set off another '02 Night Train off eBay. Note scrapes on right side forward controls and turn signal? Got ran off the road last May 1, kissed a curb and ended up on the sidewalk.

ORIGINAL: Clammy Hey Chuck, Nice ride! Where did you get the removable luggage rack? I've been looking for one for my Train. Cheers! I'm not Chuck but can tell you where to get a removable luggage rack. Right down at the local H-D dealer. Part number 53939-03. I paid $79.95 plus tax in August 2004 so they may have gone up a bit. This is the smaller one. They make a slightly bigger model as well, part # 53850-00. As you cansee, they bolt directly to the sissy bar and come off when you pull the bar off. Nice set up. Harley was actually thinking when they thought this one up.
