I thought I would share my experience,

This winter I ordered chrome wheels from:

American Revolution, Inc.
8319 Secura Way
Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670
P 866.578.9304
F 626.737.0418
www.usachrome.com
info@usachrome.com

January 12, 2007, placed order “Estimated ship date is Feb. 12th, from his e-mail”
I informed him I would be gone from Feb. 14-21, he said he would adjust shipment.

January 25, 2007, added polished rotors to the order.

Feb. 9, 2007, after several e-mails to him, I got an e-mail that said “We have about 2 more weeks until we ship your order”

February 21, 2007 called several times, e-mailed several times, I finally got an e-mail on Feb. 27, that said “Your wheels will be shipping in about 1 week”

March 12, 2007, several calls/e-mails, I finally got an e-mail on March 13, that said “Your order will ship shortly, within a few days.  We are backed up in our packout area and fell behind”

March 20, 2007, several calls/e-mails, I finally got an e-mail on March 21, that said “There is one order ahead of you right now.  When your wheels ship, you will get the tracking number e-mail automatically, so if you don't get it, that means they didn't ship”

March 27, 2007, my letter to the company:

Patrick Curran

I have to say that I am a little disappointed in the service from your
company. I placed my order on January 12, 2007, at that time you sent me an
e-mail with an estimated ship date of February 12, 2007. Your e-bay listing
continues to say 4-6 weeks as an estimate ship date. As of this week it has
been 11 weeks since I placed my order and I still do not have my wheels,
rotors etc. or an actual ship date.

I am a member of 2 Harley forums on the internet www.hdforums.com and
www.v-xxxx.com and as you can imagine the subject of “chrome wheels”
has been brought up several times, and I have highly recommend you and your
company for the outstanding product you have advertised, I also have
recommend you to the local people I ride with, one of which has ordered a
set based on my recommendations (Mr. XX, Centerville, OH). I have to
say that I now question these recommendations.........

It takes about a week for you to return a phone call or an e-mail. If I did
business this way I would not survive very long.

On Feb. 9, 2007 you answered one of my e-mails and said “We have about 2
more weeks until we ship your order.  This is our best estimate at this
time”

On March 13, 2007 you answered one of my e-mails and said “Your order will
ship shortly, within a few days.  We are backed up in our packout area and
fell behind”

On March 21, 2007 you answered one of my e-mails and said “There is one
order ahead of you right now”

I do not think that at 11 weeks it is unreasonable to expect an order that
was to take 4-6 weeks. My local dealer is backed up on “spring” service and
now tells me he is running a month out on scheduled service, so to return
the exchange wheels in 21 days as required may be a problem.

I would still like to have the wheels however if you can not ship within a
week, I kindly request that you cancel my order and issue a refund of all
the money I have paid to date.

Original order $1,228.90 This inc. a $400 core deposit, to be returned
Add for rotors and bolts $155.50
Total Amount $1384.40

If you need to contact me my cell phone number is 937-xxx-xxxx.

I look like to hear from you today.

Mike Harrison

March 27, 2007, his answer.

Mike,

I apologize for our sub standard performance over the last month.  We were
short handed in a number of areas and we have struggled to get back cores
from previous chrome exchange customers.  The lack of cores has caused us to
be late.  We are fixing the problem for future orders.

Your wheels are actually done, and you will have t

They sure do look nice on the bike I think, too bad for the long wait though.

Those are sweet wheels, but that was rediculous to get them.

I do think they look great and the quality looks good, the whole experience just takes away a little of the fun.

Oh well, thanks letting me vent.

To be honest the wheels look GREAT, i'm sorry for you that it took so long to get the whole set up, but, it looks like it was worth the wait. I understand your frustration.

Why in the heck would you recommend something to someone based on simply an advertisement, and not the complete transaction?

They sure look good and I have to commend you on your patience. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have had that kind of patience. Good thing they weren't a local company. It would have gotten pretty ugly at the service counter.

I just ordered a set, and they are here in 8 days as he promised me when ordered. Quality is great, rotors look smokin, and I am one happy customer who recieved what was promised. Awesome product, awesome finish, and great to deal with. Yes,we all know there are sometimes circumstances and hickups, but they did deliver as promised, so just thought i'd throw that in.

Cheers!

Your story with American Revolution sounds almost like mine, except you have some relief!  On 10/29/2007 I made an over the phone credit card purchase of two machined and chromed Fatboy wheels, new tires mounted and balanced, two new polished rotors, and a chromed belt pulley, and core deposits of course, all over $1900. All I have heard so far is apologies and promises. I have filed complaints with LA Better Business Bureau and am now filling out a  consumer complaint form with  the California Attorney General's Public Inquiry Unit.  All I have every wanted was decent communications and honesty, and have received neither.
