An 07 Dyna Wide Glide Vivid Black, is hands down the finest machine ever produced by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, period ...end of story.

ok....maybe I'm a little biased.

I walked around the showroom, looked at all the bikes.  I did this for a few weeks.  I kept coming back to the Wide Glide.

Second class nuthin'...  This thing is bad to the effin' bone.

But this is my first Harley... hell it's my first bike... so what do I know

When I bought my Fat Bob a month ago, I could have bought any bike on the floor, but this is the one that caught my eye and rode awesome! If I was going to spend $30,000.... I would have bought two Fat Bob's! Vivid Black and Black Denim would look sharp side by side in my garage.......

Let's have a little less flirting and get back to the whining that others may not like our choice in bikes.

Oh and by the way I think we all know deep down, the Street Bob is about the coolest looking HD ever created. That's why I got it.

I like them all, but am very happy with my Superglide, after I got it where I wanted it.  Love the Softtails, just wish you could get them with a NON counterbalanced motor.

Lately, a 105th V-Rod has been talking to me....

In my opinion the Dyna's are the hottest looking and best
performing bikes that H/D makes.  I especially like my
Super Glide Custom.  Good gas mileage, excellent handling,
comfortable, 2-up seating.  I'd ride that baby anywhere.
Most bike for the dollar.

I have friends and family with all different kinds of rides... some are even rice burners, shhhh, don't tell anyone!  No one criticizes anyone else's choice.  Everyone loves their own bike, and that's as it should be.  Who cares what anyone else thinks.  Shut up and ride!!

Well said donna, I agree.
I know this thread is all in good fun, but I just get tired of US vs Them....
I'm sure we all ride with a total mix of bikes, no one's is better or worse!
This thread is worthless...

Some softails I love , others are just ok.  I've never been a joiner...one reason I bought a Low Rider rather than a Fat Boy, even when they were white hot....I wanted something different.

My first bike was a 2001 Wide Glide. After 3 years, I changed it for a 2004 Electraglide CVO. The CVO was awesome but I was missing something, the dyna! Last year I bought a 2007 StreetBob and since then, I'm a happy men. Dyna are fun to drive bikes. They are light, fast, shaking and handling is wow! Just love my dyna!

I waited for my HD for a very long time (ok I'm not that old but...) Anyway, I was pretty much set on a Fatboy.  I finally decided to purchase while deployed to Iraq and started doing research and browsing all the bikes HD had to offer.  I was torn between the Nighttrain, Fat Boy, Street Bob and Fat Bob.  While home on leave I went to the dealership and sat on the Fat Bob and knew it was the bike I wanted and havent looked back.  For me I think my initial primary motivation for a Fat Boy was that it appeared to be the premier bike (had a few friends who had one).

In my opinion the street bob is one sick looking bike.  I just love the look and feel of my Fat Bob, rough, unrefined, mean, aggressive and built to be rode.  Huh, just like some women I've dated!

I ride with a buddy and he has an o7 nighttrain and it looks good but when we ride he constantly stares at my bike and wishes his bike would vibrate, I get nothing but compliments on my old school look , 07 street bob denim with red wheels and grips

never heard a word spoken about my bike in a negative manner whatsoever. Matter of fact, I could just be vain (doubt it though...I'm too smart to be vain), but I have seen it turn heads at times as I go screamin' by!

I ride with a couple of dressers and I am kidded about my SG.  They know to take it easy on me about it.  I say this  becuase the next words heard are; "Are you getting better than 43 MPG yet?"  Because I am getting 56-59 MPG and I love it!.

We have fun with each other and NO HARM is ever intended.  We bought what we bought for personal reasons.  I looked for over three hours one Saturday afternoon at the dealership's inventory before deciding on my SG.  Didn't even test ride the thing.  Signed the papers two days later, bought a new helmet and rode it home.

Ride it and have fun!

I kinda get that "wanna-be bike" from the baggers I ride with. Also, I think that Dynas have the smallest accessory section in the Harley parts catalog. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my Dyna, with its quickness and agility - but my bike purchase options were limited to what I could touch the ground on!  Yes, I know I can lower anything, but it's tough to test ride a bike when your feet are dangling like Edith Ann in her big rocking chair. (I think I just gave my age away.) Now that I'm comfy on the Dyna, there are some things I'd like to dress up and/or add to it, and Harley is NOT my best resource. Guess that's their loss (of revenue).

Oh yeah, one more thing: for what it's worth, most people seem to think that our bikes look more like what they see in their minds when you say "Harley". As evidence: my friend Kym and I were out for a ride on route 66 in Arizona and stoped at the Hackberry General Store for water and snacks. While we were in the store, three brand new Mustang convertibles (rentals) each with 4 tourists from Poland, came skidding into the parking lot. Kym walked out the door to see all of them standing next to (and a couple even starting to climb on to) my Dyna, NOT her Ultra, and having the other take their picture with the "Harlee Daveedsone". One of them even asked her what her bike was, since he couldn't understand that one that looked like hers was a Harley, too. (As for the climbing onto the bike, yes, I came out of store with a WTF look on my face, but calmed down when Kym explained who they were and that they thought the bike was part of the store ambiance. But believe me, even though I let the pictures go on, I supervised the mounts and dismounts! International incident averted. )

I have owned a Wide Glide for a long time.  All Harley's are good period and if you ride them it is all good!  It is still a matter of what you want to ride.  The WG is considered one of the harder bikes to ride with the front end rake and not so wide tire and twitchy forks.  But I still love the bike like an old school chopper ride.  Before "Softails" you had bikes with shocks (external) or a rigid frame!  Softails were created for that rigid look but still have the "soft" ride of a shocked bike. In other words, they are fake rigid hardtails!  I prefer the power and ride of my WG!  So to those who think Dyna's are 2nd class, just screw em and just ride!

I don't really give a ratz azz what anyone says about MY bike. I bought what I like, not what they like.

So many people think what they have is the best there is and everyone should ride what they do.
Well, when I am going up the twistys on my 07 FXD I just wave as I blow by the baggers and soft tails.

Yeah, we're BAD........

Buy and ride what you like. Unless some one else is paying for it.

I get it too, from the guys at work,(none of them ride) when are you getting a big bike.
the first super glide in 71 was a FLH frame and a XL front end. (FX) same motor as the "big bike"
and less weight. do the math

I wanted a heritage springer classic REAL bad, because of the comfort. They feel like they were designed around ME. That was until I rode the street bob! The day I test rode one, I wasn't even planning to buy anything, and ended up trading in my sporty right then and there. I had to have it, and I love it more and more every time I ride it. (before I rode one, I thought they were lame, wannabe bobbers)
