Most of the time I go to the car wash. I'll get flamed for this, but once you've done a good hand wash, a weekly trip thru the car wash works well.
As for soap, flamed again, but Michelle gives me whatever dish soap she has available.
It's a machine! I ain't too worried about it.

Any auto car wash soap is fine and no I do not remove my seat for the washing but do clean under it, I hope that helps

Now

Dish soap is bad stuff for your delicate paint. I am not trying to knock anyone here and I am sure "you have been using it for years an it works fine plus its cheap"

but theses machines cost 10's of thousands of dollars and the average piece of chrome is $100. I just cant see cutting corners and saving a couple of bucknot buying at least decent soap and wax is going to break the bank on any of us.

Sorry but its just my $.02

Most any name brand car wash shampoo should be fine. ALWAYS mix per directions..too strong can strip wax.
As the poster said above.....no dish liquid. It is made to strip. So if its doing its job it will strip your wax or sealant off. Now think what its doing to your vinyl and your seals and gaskets.
Most seats remove with one screw on the back.......take it off!

Most car washes are good but stay away from the car wash with wax. The wax in the soap could cloud up your windshield and you can’t get the wax off your hands when you start drying the bike.

I use S-100 Total Cycle cleaner. Just spray it on all over your bike let it set for a few minutes no scrubbing needed and wash it off. It looks like someone just detailed your bike. I also use the S-100 polishing soap on my chrome to remove spots and shine it up, it does a great job.

I just used the Mr. Clean auto wash 9.99 after rebates and it worked as they said. NO DRYING and no water spots.
