Default Oil Filter

Does anyone use the Amsoil SMF-134C oil filter? I'm not really interested in an answer from an Amsoil dealer (I think I know what they will say

Have not used one but did look at a site a while back that took various filters apart and analized them. He thought it well made but had a very small filtration area compared to the best filters. I found the site with google.

Well after looking at the miles you have traveled I guess you have had good results with the filter. Thanks for the reply

Hey Markcuda, you say you use the filter but do you like it and why do you use it?
Personally I would like to see somebody invent a filter that upon removal it has a valve that shuts off the oil.
I really like to do all my own work and the simple oil change is always a nuckle buster and a bag a cat litter
deal. Does the Amsoil filter cost alot more? And does it come in crome??....Augie....

Guys, I am sorry but I can't give you much on the filter.
I just started using the Amsoil filter a 1000 miles ago.
I have been using SYN3 oil since my bike had 1,800 miles on it.
I went over to Amsoil oil and filter in all 3 holes. I can get the oil for just about half the
price of SYN3, witch is $8.49 a quart[sm=forgetit.gif] The Harley oil and filter must
of been doing some good for all these miles

Hawk-

I have used Amsoil in my race cars, and during the winter Freshening- engine builder told me he never saw engines come back that clean after a season. Guess there is something to that part. What benefit do you expect from the Amsoil filter. I know on other filters, they do not have as much filtration area, but do use a different media... I believe you just change it more often- regardless of brand. AMEN to the idea of a no-leak shutoff on removal!
