I was going to purchase my bike when I got home but instead I dropped in to Harley Davidson here on my camp to just check out prices. For those who have seen these little shops it's not much to look at. No bikes to see or seat on, just a couple of desk in a tan little trailor. It isoperated by the PX with HD sales guys. Harley offers us deployed soldiers BIG discounts only while you are here in the box. I almost made the the mistake by buying mine back home. Now with the money I saved I can buy cool stuff for my ride. Aw and Harley's APR is 6.24 which beat out USAA. Well I went home May 15 for RR and checked out prices on 07 and found out that my 08 was much cheaper. Anyway I just wanted to pass along a good thing and if this could help you get the bike you wanted than it was worth it. Geaser Glide is $6,000 cheaper here than back home. Hope this helps.
Sorry about the double photo. Rookie at work here.

I wished I knew that when I was in the sand box for OIF III. Lots of guys were buying the new Ford Mustangs when I was over there thru AAFES. I wonder if the sales discount is just for OIF/OEF locations or all OCONUS outlets....

Jeeps and Harley are the big sellers right now. ****** I should be back home around Aug and I live in Chambersburg PA. If not too far then we can hook up for a ride. I'm always (when home) involved in some kind of charity run or rally's. Keep in touch.
Bought mine while in the Sandbox last year. Picked it up 2 days after getting back to the world (1 Nov 2006). I have 13,000 miles already. Good luck and get back Bro....

Bought mine in 2005 while here---now, I'm here again. I got 3.9% APR back then. I searched and searched and searched even though Harley said they couldn't be beat. Found 3.9% at Pentagon.

AAFES Auto sales reach out to a larger group of people making them the worlds largest Harley Dealer. Therefor allowing the soldiers to see the savings. My 2008 vivid black was $16,811 after all the fee's ( shipping ect..). All I need to do is pay tax tags and title when I pick it up. They did say that the Ultra Classic is 6K over priced in the states. I guess there must be a demand for them.

There was nothing hard about the transaction for me man. Here is what I did----I got a quote for insurance and I activated that insurance about three days before I left Iraq. So, when I got home--my wife already had my insurance card and HD dealership simply called my company (Foremost) and verified my policy. You will pick up some papers from dealership and take those papers to the DMV--pay ur money, get ur tags, go back to the dealership and get ur scoot. Hell, I orderedparts for mine and the parts manager ordered them without me paying for them. His brother was in Iraq too. He said, "I'm sure u have the money, I'll have the parts ordered and installed--pay when u get here." Yep, I got there and not only was the bike ready---but parts were installed and the original parts were placed in boxes and placed in my truck. It will go smooth!!!!!! I don't know who ur insurance company is----but check out Foremost. I learned of Foremost on this forum back in 2005. I had never heard of them---I'm sure glad I called them. THey were cheaper than anybody (for me). Hell, I've been with USAA for many years and they couldn't compete either.

Here's the funny thing---Foremost writes for USAA customers now. USAA doesn't actually provide motorcycle insurance. When I call Foremost----there is a prompt that says, "if u are a USAA customer, press one". Anyway--when I first got Foremost---they had no relation to USAA and beat USAA who I've had for about 12 years. Yep, no tickets and 35 years old. ANd they provide $3500 in coverage to accessories free of charge. As u acculate more accessories; just ask for more coverage. It covers helmets, leather, chrome, etc. That's a big deal considering how much in accessories (chrome) u will put on the bike

I actually got a better deal in the states than thru AAFES. Saw the bike on the internet $1000 less than one priced by AAFES. Course I took that. Still in the sandbox but leaving in thee weeks. None to soon.:)

So, you're saying that u got a HD for $1K less than MSRP in the states. I say that because the bikes here are sold at MSRP. You have an option of keeping the 5 year ext warranty and alarm system which AAFES puts on the bikes. If u take those two things off---Bike is MSRP! I kept those things and added the optional rims and mine was still cheaper than a base model Deluxe in the states. MSRP; mine was $16K and some change----kept warranty, alarm, added rims----came to $18K and some change----Bike in states (stock) was $19K and some change. Now, if u are comparing those two bikes and you make all things equal; especially--what came on those bikes and u still saved $1K------u'll be the first I ever heard of saying so and I say---congrats!!
AAFES will not voluntarily tell u that you can remove the warranty and alarm---those two things aren't free---take them off--u gotta a bike at exactly MSRP. Take care Bro

They do it at all sorts of OCONUS joints. I ordered mine in Bahrain - they had an office for Harley, Ford, Chrystler and Chevy right next door to the Navy Federal Credit Union office - since I'd already had an account it was pretty easy to get a loan. I didn't get an eyewatering rate, but it was good enough to get things started till I got home and switched it to my other credit union, which gave me a 4.25% rate.
I saved about 4 grand compared to what Fatboys were going for at the local dealership at the time.
They also sent guys out to the carrier a couple times, and I've seen them doing their thing in Korea and Japan too.
It was my understanding that they sold 'em at MSRP... not sure how accurate that is, but they're DEFINITELY cheaper. Too bad some of the chopper manufacturers aren't on board yet...

I Agree Kolja
When that Britt reluctantly told me that I could remove the ext warranty and alarm---mine was MSRP (same price as the HD website said it was). They don't want u to do that because they have to get paid too (commission). Yep, I agree that they're cheaper when comparing the exact same bike with the exact same options. One other huge benefit is being able to order a HD before it even comes out on the show room floor and being guaranteed that u will get it......And even if u find it cheaper---do what it says below. I took the following off of their website:
The combination of pre-negotiated Exchange discounts, plus special factory military incentives, makes it possible for us to offer you this lowest price guarantee
If any authorized, franchised dealer in the Continental United States offers to sell you the same new vehicle with identical options for delivery on the same delivery date and at the same delivery location shown on your ENCS Order Acceptance for less money, we will refund the difference.
When you purchase a new vehicle through MAP, you are entitled to:
Privileged Military Pricing
Lowest Price Guarantee
Military-only Discounts and Factory Rebates
Guaranteed Price and Rebate Protection
Protection from hidden charges – MAP offers full price disclosure

Over all I was happy with everything. I did have a few issues but nothing that was a deal killer. I put a deposit down and the Kiwi Dealer guy messed up the paperwork by accident. It was an issue because he forgot to add a $750 discount they were offering. The problem was that I had to cancel the order and reorder. I would have to wait for my deposit to get returned and blah blah blah! Iemailed the overall manager and told her that I wasn't going to put up with all this crap and was going to just not purchase. She fixed the problem and added an extra $750 discount for the hassle. Worked out for me.
My bike arrived 2 or so weeks before I got home. The dealer was really nice and made a big issue (in a good way) about this being a military bike and gave me the VIP treatment. I even got a nice hug from the Hottie working for him in the clothing section.

Interesting thing about AAFES HD sales in Korea, you can order a big twin, but only for stateside delivery. If you want your bike delivered in Korea, your only option is a Sportster. I was told by the sales guy that the restriction was put in place by the Korean government. Still, I don't know of anyone who has sold their Harley to a Korean.

I bought myDeluxein Korea back in 2005, took stateside delivery and promply put her in storage for my trip in the sandbox. When I got back, my dealer informed me about "Operation Extend the Ride" which extends the warranty for the amount of time we keep getting sent back and forth to either Iraq or Afghanistan. There are some supporting documents and stuff to send in, but it was pretty easy to do. I think it is a pretty sweet deal by the MoCo to support us Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines!

Basically the deal the all of the American manufactures have with AAFES is 3% below invoice. If you are really good at working the stateside dealerships, you can match or even beat that. The only disadvantage I found when I got my bike in Korea in 02 was that they only give a certain number of bikes (and cars) to sell, so I had to settle for my EGC (best thing that could have happened, I love my bike!!) cause all the RK's where spoken for. It is a great deal and the dealership on this end was great on the delivery. BTW, USAA is awesome for insurance. Read this story:

Where do you get the 3% discount from? All of my quotes were 8.5% below MSRP. I purchased a 2-tone 2008 Dyna FXDL for $14998 thats including the feight and prep, MSRP for the bike in the states is $15650 and depending on where you go say another $1000 for shipping and freight. I'm not going to say I saved a bundle but I did saveat least $1700 if you can get the bike for MSRP.

I think I got this right. Your deployed from the states. Ordered bike for deliver back in the states. Got orders to Korea and plan to take the bike with you to Korea? Is that on track?
If so, I recommend you do your homework and see what kind of mods, taxes, import fees there are to import a HD into Korea. I'm not exactly in your situation but here in Japan it's a pain in the rear and very expensive to bring a US spec bike into the country. I have purchased two HD's through NCS and if I'm not mistaken you can back out any time before delivery. Check it out, it might save you a lot of headaches down the road.
Again, Korea could be totally different but still recommend you check into it.

I'm currently in Iraq, and leaving shortly. I've finally decided to quit denying myself a Harley, and the deals here are better than in the states...I was quoted $14,931 for an '08 Street Bob, including of course the 5-year wty and alarm. Of course they don't have '08s available in the color I want, which pushes me back to an '09, with delivery for November.[>:] Haven't cut the deal yet, I'm still number crunching...any other advice?

\\;Take or send the qoute to a loacl deal car or bike they will met the price the dicount comes from The manufacturer not the dealer. dealers may even throw in some extras.
As for the no tax thing while deployed in theater BS.
When you pick up your bike and order plates you will pay every dime in tax in every state in the US. We have seen this time and time agin.
I bought my wife a new car just befor we came home the last time from a local dealer just to prove I could beat or met the exchange price. Local dealer beat it by 50 dollars

Interestingly enough, they aren't always cheaper through AAFES. \\;\\\\\\; My buddy's FatBoy was cheaper through the dealer near Fort Drum. \\;\\\\\\; However, he bought his wife a Low Rider and AAFES was a couple grand less. \\;\\\\\\; I think it's smart to always compare prices.

As for the "no taxes" that'll be the case until you go register it unless you register it in a state, like NH, that doesn't tax vehicles.
