Default 12 V accessory jack (cig lighter) on a RK?

Has anyone ever put one of these on a standard RK? If so, where/how worked best for you?
EDIT to add info: I'm going to use it to feed a GPS gizmo with a looooong cord so don't care if it's out of reach while riding. Would prefer for it to even besomewhat hidden or at least not sticking out like a sore thumb.

THX,
Steve

I've wondered the same thing. It says it can't be used on a RK, but some guys on the group have used it on theirs and had no problems. I'd like to use it for my Zumo 550.

I put it on my RKC. I was hesitant because they said it wouldn't fit but after measuring everything I said "what the HELL". I mounted mine on the right side cover, I think just forward of the ECM. Works like a charm.. The plug is just long enough to reach and you barely even notice it.

I bought a few different stiles from WalMart and walked around the bike for a half hour trying to make one work.
I finally took the one that has screw slots moulded in the sides and a spring loaded cover. I drilled and tapped some holes in the frame gusset just in front of the fuel tank. I found a pair of wires under the head lamp.
I guess I'll have to post a picture.

Thanks guys. That's two options y'all have made work. I like the way curmudgeon did it for the GPS but the side panel way would be better if the Mrs wants to use it for music when we're putting around here on the beach and GPS is not involved.

Mabye go wild and get 2? That would be good for a trip. I'm going to try just 1 via your method firstcurmudgeonso if I need pics or hints, I'll IM or email ya.

Thanks again,
Steve

Yep, it'll plug right into an existing that's under the seat.

SO, it would be safe to say that an extention wire could be soldered to itto run it under the tank so you could mount it under the nacelle? Is the under-seat plug powered by the accessory switch on the left side of the nacelle or thru ACC/ Run power?

Well, that's really one and the same. It is powered from the acc switch on the left side, but there isn't any juice if she's 'OFF' on the tank.
