Welcome WBNiner, I know we have at least 1 other VRod owner, however if I'm not mistaken... he's not happy with it at the moment???

Yeah I read some of his problems. Sounds like to me he just got a lemon. Sucks that the HD dealer crapped out on him. My bike has been nothing but stellar and I am very pleased with it!

You are going to be very satistied with your V-Rod. The bike is a venture on Harley Davidsons part and ahead of it's time (for Harley). The water cooling makes the V-Rod a High Tech engine in that there is so much latitude with the performance - (it is good in all running phases since it is at a stabilized running temperature). The frame is very rigid and Harley gave it ample suspension for either rough riding or street cruising.

One of the major sportscar manufacturing companys had much input in the design of Harley's V-Rod and with all to the utmost good. The bike was given some grueling tests that most bikes would totally fail, including the Dyna that I ride.

I came very close to making the purchase of a V-Rod myself and still may. It is definitely a very desirable machine. Enjoy yours and ride safely - it's a lot of performance on two wheels.

It was Porsche as a matter of fact...
....at least that's what I was taught when we were learning the history of the bikes at the HD dealership.

well my wife wants one of these critters too (vrod) and i just am not liking it too much, its a nice ride and i enjoyed riding it (i got to take it on a test ride) but it just doesn't fit my eye. it really goes when you give it a twist so do be careful untill you settle in on it. good luck to you and enjoy it!
