Default Hydraulic Clutch

The mail gal finally dropped off a package I've been waitin' for - my rocker clutch adapted to a master cylinder. It looks pretty good and tomorrow night I'll be headin' out to the shop to start pullin' things apart for the install.

I've got a Rivera hydraulic tranny side cover to go with it. And guess what? Yup, the dern thing is chromed! It'll stay chrome at least until it starts flaking, then it'll get the bead blast and wrinkle black treatment. I'm going to get everything mounted and use some stainless tubing for the line.

Along with the hydraulic clutch I'll be putting the hand shift back on, obviously. Also gonna redo the oil filter mount so it hangs vertically and run stainless tubing to it, too. Been holdin' off 'cause I didn't want to start the job then have to change everything because of how the rocker pedal & bracket sits.

Of course now that I'm gonna take the bike down the rain will stop and it'll get nice until I'm ready to go back on the road!

Bite you? NO. But I will laugh witcha when you post pics of that red rear tire behind that purty chrome piece...

Didn't you recently add something else chrome???? I might need to search, but seems I sorta remember kiddin' you then too.

Maybe you can make a "How to" post? Take pics along the way? The owners are getting ready to add a DIY forum, and this is the kind fo thing that would be good...

Picked up some film for the camera today. Gonna shoot the change-over to the foot clutch. I'll try and get a package together to submit to the DIY section.

Project got put on hold though. Yesterday evening was the first chance I had to get moving on it. Got the bike on the lift, pulled the clutch lever off the bar, removed the footboard, kick stand and shifter, and couldn't straighten up for 10 minutes - back-outta-whack! Gotta let the good doc-dope do its thing for a day or two. Should be able to get back on it tomorrow evening, if I take it easy.

Arrrgghh, mateys, old age sucks! (Beats the alternative, though.)

Maybe that's your body rejecting the mere thought of chrome on your ride...
